Finishing my Ag Day garden 22 September 2015

2 more days until Ag Day! Yay!!!!

Tonight it rained and my plants got some more water.

I made a sign for my garden. It says Duck 'n' Herbs by Holly Murdoch. I finished off my blog so my Daddy can print it off for me tomorrow.

Caring for my garden 14 September 2015

Today I checked my garden and how they were growing. Both of the ducks are looking good. I also watered them.

My gardens progress 7 September 2015

I took some photos today of my garden.

It looked quite good after just over a week. It has had lots of rain as it is winter.   It's making the plants grow. And they are also in the sun and it makes them healthy too.

Watering my garden 31 August 2015

I put my plants out in the rain so I don't have to water them tonight. The plants need water to help them grow.

Planting my Ag Day Garden 29 August 2015

Today I planted my Ag Day garden.

I am planting my plants in two duck decoys. First of all, I cleaned them because they had rope and anchors on them.

My Dad cut the tops off them. He drilled holes in the bottom for the water to come out.

Then my Mum put the potting mix in. My Mum didn't want me to get near it because sometimes it has germs in it.

I got my plants ready and laid them out how I wanted them to go and I put them in gently.

I called my garden Duck n' Herbs.

Watering my plants 26 August 2015

Everyday I am going to water my plants so they can grow into a big healthy plant. Water is good for plants.

Buying my AG Day Plants 25 August 2015

I went to the plant shop after school.

We met my Nana there. She was going to help us learn about the plants I needed. My Nana was a good help because she knows all about plants.

I thought it would be a good idea to plant herbs and then we could use them to cook the ducks that my Dad shoots.

I bought:
1. Coriander
2. Thyme
3. Oregano
4. Rosemary
5. Potting Mix.

Planning my Ag Day Garden 23 August 2015

Today I went to our new duck farm. It was my first time going there. I went for a walk to explore around the new farm.

I found some old duck decoys. Decoys are pretend ducks to help attract the ducks when you are Duckshooting.

The decoys were lying under an old shed. They were all old and tangled up.

I decided to use them to use them as the container in my Ag Day garden!

My Duckshooting Handbag

I finished my Duckshooting Handbag. I love my handbag. I loved making it.

Designing and making my handbag

I am laying out the pattern of my handbag.

I put sticky tape on the rope so that the string can fit through the holes in the shells. I put them on string to hold them in place.

I laid them out so we could duct tape them together and tie the strings up.

I held them in place so they fitted together.

I made the sides with different colours and patterns. I made the handle out of long black shells. I went in to my Dads garage and "borrowed" one of his pencils to put in the handle to hold the handle straight. He didn't mind when I told him.

My Mum helped me tie the knots tight to keep the shells in place.

Getting ready to start making my handbag

I am in my Dad's garage.  My Dad collected his old shells for me.  I am going to use his rubbish to make a handbag.

I used his Reloader to take out the primers on the shells. This left a hole in them. We are going to put string through them and make a handbag.

I had to do most of them with my sister. It was fun. My Dad made us a stand so we didn't have to push hard on the Reloader.

Planning my Wearable Arts Entry

My name is Holly.

I am making a handbag for Wearable Arts.

Today I planned it by drawing a picture of it.

It is going to be made of old empty shells from my Dads gun. I am going to reuse them. I am going to make the handle out of some plastic strips that my mums friend Nicole gave me. They were rubbish  from her work.
